Component sizes

Hi guys and gals

 

 

 

I have been following the thread on HT vs FS and have decided to keep my HT and upgrade my components.

 

 

 

However, I'm not sure if all components fit any frame. Will any fork, crank, derailleur fit any frame?

 

 

 

Can I buy any component set on the internet and expect it to fit my frame?

normally sizes are printed on the part so just get the same again. The only place that you must be carefull is the front derailleur. Some frames can only take top swing and other only bottom swing. All of them these days can be used as a top or bottom pull changer.

What Mampara said. And check the clamp size on the FD. Also, if you're using a cartridge BB and not an external setup, you'll need to check if your BB shell is 68 or 73mm. External ones are universal, they just use spacers.
