keith Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hey guys my headset is making a creaking noise when I ride. I have taken the stem off and loosened the bolt inside and retightened it (but not too tight). Still it creaks! Any explanation?
no.one.knows Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 the bearings could be going or have gone, you need to take it all out and take out the bottom and top headset bearings and clean it all out and re-lube everything that was lubed then put all back together and there we go, if there is still a noise take it to your lbs and have them do a service on it and check for cracks as well.

no.one.knows Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 from standing in a shop the grease can dry and get dusty, so take it all out and clean it and re-lube it all.
