keith Posted March 4, 2009 Share Hey guys my headset is making a creaking noise when I ride. I have taken the stem off and loosened the bolt inside and retightened it (but not too tight). Still it creaks! Any explanation? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
no.one.knows Posted March 4, 2009 Share the bearings could be going or have gone, you need to take it all out and take out the bottom and top headset bearings and clean it all out and re-lube everything that was lubed then put all back together and there we go, if there is still a noise take it to your lbs and have them do a service on it and check for cracks as well.
