  1. please leave this forum and deactivate your account. thanks
  2. can i ask probably a very silly question here? to all the cradle residents on the forum. Can you garauntee me that if i were to cycle on my own in the cradle, next to the shoulder of the road all the time, that none of your residents would hoot or drive close to me?
  3. So after reading this whole thread, i feel i have justed wasted my time. because after 13pages no solution or agreement has been even considered by both parties. so you are all wasting your time. The facts i see are: cycling is a rapidly growing sport worldwide. probably one of the fastest places for this growth is SA, look at fact sheets from 94.7 and argus for instance, so more and more average joe's are getting out on a bike, which is good for your environment by the way mr ples and cradleresident, so be thankfull. it also affects your roads less, less road wear. anyway back to my point, if more and more people are out on their bikes and hear about what is happening in this area, less and less people will visit this area because of the risks involved, whether in their car or on bike. so the income in this area will drop as less and less people visit it, something to think bout cradle residents. If you think this doesnt affect your business in the area, guess again. I have customers here in australia, 9000km away who are not from SA, who have heard about this and are shocked by it, and because of it, will not visit this area when on holiday because of reports or bad driving, bad cycling, bad tension etc... to both the cyclists and the residents, in reading all your posts. I feel this might never stop, and that the toll on people's lives at some stage may be great. so please before you all carry on trying to acuse each other or point blame, drop the past and whats happened and start as if you were starting from scratch, to find a solution, to work together, and help each other. cause although there are issues to be addressed here, they have become soo entangled that there will never be solved cause both parties arent even agreeing on anything. come guys SA is still the most beautiful country in the world, and has the most unique things/culture/scenary to offer. lets not turn it bloody and violent. just consider it, thats all i ask....
  4. I'd go with techguy, conti race supersonics are awesome!!! roll very well, very flexible so can easily take the wet roots and hard objects, control is also good at low pressure too!!
  5. Well i was just at work and reading this, serving a customer at the same time, regular customer. as im in australia now its hard from this far but... he just happens to be a south african lawyer who has just immigrated over here. I showed him this and he said if there is someone on the hub who is a lawyer you can have charges brought against him and possible jail time if you get to see the right lawyer. for he has admitted, (an apparently an email can be used as evidence), to grievious(sp) bodily harm as well as intent to commit murder. hey just thought i'd let you all know, i cant help and i know i lived in that area. so use this dont use it. just thought i'd let you guys know. have a good day.
  6. or get ten of your cycling mates to club in for the hanger alignment tool and then that way, you have free use of it, it doesnt cost you R1000 but only R100. And you can get the job done well each time.
  7. Yeah i agree Agteros. there are way better players than him in the squad at the moment. its time for him to move on. he was bloody good but his time has come.
  8. Think of this for a second... Its much harder for the other teams to keep track of two outstanding leading riders at astana. Two guys to watch from one team... The way astana has played this is even confusing most avid cycling critics especially the media. if from day one lance had solely been a domestique and helped shepard contador, the other big names would have felt at ease knowing lance was no threat to them and that they would only have to mark contador. By the way they conducted the race, in my opinion was perfect, having to make the other big name riders choose who they think was going to power away from the bunch up the hill giving them 50% odds of getting it right. So sorry holy but i disagree with you. I reckon it was done this way on purpose and deliberately to confuse the media and the rest of us, and it has worked beautifully.
  9. sold a ridley like that the other day! they very light. super nice!
  10. Thats the one. This is the hottest TT bike by far. End of discussion. End of topic! P.S. Mr LOOK for saying that publicly do I get a discount on one of these?
  11. would that be the look 596 TT bike mr look?
  12. The bigger picture is that in doing this, the government fat cats get more money. Its that simple!!!!
  13. they really good for racing flat courses and roll over rocks and minor bumps alot easier. however tight switchbacks are a real pain in the ass. but 29 inch is the way to go, if your bike is compatible with them of course.
  14. Its simple just ban them from racing in the epic next year. the organisers can be informed and then a ban can be imposed on them. thats what should happen.
  15. Where do you live? Cause im coming back to SA for a visit soon, I am a mech and I will rebuild your bike for a 6pack of coke and some biltong since i havent had any for 6months, R500 is nucking futs!!!
  16. SA is really into getting the numbers at races with the lure of medals or something to collect as a reward to finishing. Since I moved to Aus, they dont really have a fun rider category or lots of big races, and only 1st to 5th get timed, otherwise the rest they dont care about. I think the medal thing is a good idea as it gives a participant something to look forward to, giving out T-shirts would cost more than medals at the end of the day as they would have to cover all sizes and logistically that would cost more. So sticking with the medals is a good idea as it encourages numbers to races.
  17. Easier to give the rim a perfect balance, campagnolo do the same.
  18. Chill man. catch a chillax and chill out. i mean fully man, we just messing with you. no harsh feelings. now give me a hug.
  19. advantages of having that fork are: You can change a flat without having to remove a wheel. If your wheel buckles, you can still ride it. Easy to maintain. Good looking lighter stiffer. and just lefty! nuff said!
  20. it was your mountain being stolen
