HR Monitor HELP!

So I seem to have lost my Hr Monitor strap at the Boshendal race On sunday.

 

I was using the Blackburn cycle computer wit HR monitor (Delphi 5)

Its not the best and I must say I was longing for some more functions(on the HRM part) but since I have bike mounts with sensors on my Roadbike and my Mtb and the roabike has cadence as well It Is so convenient to just unclip and put on other bike.

 

Now the strap is gon and Its going to cost 500 for a strap (I only payed R800for the whole thing)

 

Im considering getting a upgrade, But I cannot afford more than R2000 now.

 

Give me you honnest opinions please, Wisdom wil help

Do I buy a half decent non cycling one and mount it next to my cycle computer on the bike? or do I get strap and wait till I can afford the R4000 "Mc Coy" ..

 

I Do triathelons as well so If I can I dont want to be limited to barmount cycle computer again.

 

Argus is in 3 days..
