Must have been a very tough ride without any suspension!!

Well this couple on tandem did it again this weekend.

People that rode had the wind from behind both ways' date='low flying was the order of the day.

Most did their best times ever.

We hope for conditions like we had the weekend for every year,,,,,,but we have had worse.

Funny thing is that if you are chasing someone , the tailwind does not make life easier.

Legs are dead this morning.

Cheers, got to go wash the sand off my bike.

Another moody shot

I must say the weather was perfect for the race - the riders couldn'y have asked for better.  Tail wind on both days!  Maybe Sunday's heat wasn't so cool.

I remember doing this in I think 2001. Southeaster headwind the first day plus the organizers had  cocked up the tide tables so we had to take a detour to avoid the high tide on the beach road on day 1 which ended up being about 112 kays. Day two the wind had turned very Westerly....another headwind. Mr. 20Niner in the photos above was doing it in his beach buggy laughing at us struggling with our tubed wheels in the loose sand. Good times.

Did anybody do this Singlespeed?
