Morning hubbers

Last night CGC held it's AGM and for the first time since 2005 actually had more than enough members to form a quorum, must say it is pathetic when one see the amount of clubs that stayed away yet they want this and that done for them and here when the opportunity was there they were nowhere to be seen.

Some interesting items caught my attention and after the past few months of scratching around I am more confused at the manner in which cycling is actually run within SA.

1: Touchy issue affecting all riders- Where do you think your R30-00 day license fee goes to? Is it the province or CSA.

My opinion would be that money belongs to province as the race event is sanctioned by province and held within the provincial borders.

Some events this money remains within the province however at a recently held big event some of this money was taken taken directly by CSA- WHY? R250000-00 is a huge chunk of money in my eyes.

One wonders if PPA has to also hand over the day license

fees collected at Argus as well

1:Is CSA not undermining the authority of the provincal board where the event was held by dealing directly with the organizer without the board's permission?

2:Did CSA pay a commission on this collection and why?

+-R24000-00

3:Sanctioned events been held and then they delay payments to the prize winners for several weeks/months.I would have thought this type of issue should have received priority over the collection of day license fees

4:There are many more issues at hand that needs to be addressed with urgency if cycling wants to get it's house in order. First one would be to set proper processes in place between the provinces and CSA.

I now understand why PPA in Western Cape refuses to fold or become an affiliate of WPC.
