I have to reach 1200 points per week however with Discovery removing my TomTom from the system this is impossible yet they recommend to me to do some gym sessions using my heart rate monitor and running the park run. Still leaves me at 900 points only and how do I measure my heartrate when they DQ my device? Vitality races are a rarity in Gauteng and when you do find one they not linked to a timing company affiliated to Vitality. I mknow this is just a value add but somewhere along the line the company must question their integrity of endorsing TomTom devices only to eliminate it now. To all the cyclists wanting change within CGC why not attend the AGM and see for yourself what happens at the meeting and how a select few clubs manipulate the meeting and any proposal they not happy with to suit their club needs CGC can only be as strong as you the member want it to be as your involvement(You and your club) is vital to it's existence. EG. The three big clubs in CGC outvotes all the other clubs put together with their voting powers. ( X amount of paid up members gives you X votes) hence they will always out vote any proposal they not happy about. They is a few persons on the board trying their best for the sake of the sport Remember any club hosting an event must have finances to put it together and have manpower to ensure it is a success and herein lies the problem where "event organizers" come along offer the club a guaranteed fee to host the event in their name walk away after the event smiling. Just look at 94.7 cycle challenge with origins was with MCC I doubt they get close to half a million from the event compared to what the event organizer walks away with for hosting the event. At the end of the day MCC is happy with what they receive for minimal effort and the event organizer is happy with their share as well as a few charities benefitting from the event. Hoe sustainable is the CSI effort coupled to this event? who knows. Looking at PPA and the events they run one notices an immediate difference from start to finish especially with the CTCT event and the charities as well as the CSI programs they been running for years.

Running for ages.I have done 10 Comrades several Loskop, Om die Dam and Two Oceans and 100km races as well as cycle since 2003. 11 94.7 and Argus many other fun races Run on Mondays and Wednesdays during week cycle Tuesday and Thursday . On Saturday morning do your long run if not racing the Sunday thereafter get on your bike for your LSD. It works If you race on Sundays then cycle for 50km only on Saturday and run 10-15km on Sunday after your race. Mondays rest day. Depending on your race build up you will stop the one code for few days and concentrate on the build up of other . Not a fast runner at all Best Comrades 8H54min. Argus and 94.7 best times 3H12min. In my group of bandits I have some who have achieved the following: Comrades 8H35 and a 2H40 94.7 Comrades 8H46 and 94.7 of 2H50 a unique 8H59m58s Comrades and a 2H59m47S 94.7 The mind and body is a wonderful tool if used correctly BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTT please get the buy in of your spouse on the training regime and the amount of crap they have to put up with once the bug has bitten. Guys the youngster that was been shoved by the two guys was not suspended at all, Luthando who intervened in the spat was suspended and yes it is Chris from Prince Albert. Please note Chris Dusty and Luthando race against each other on a weekly basis (Westvaal and Bonitas). There is something missing from this article. Why was CSA adamant not to lift the suspension of Kaka and forcing a second court appearance? One wonders

The sad part of this is that both Chris and Dusty know Luthando very well . Tyler and Kaka are good friends on and off the bike. What is strange is that Kaka gets suspended as well ( did he say/do something )that is not reported.

I like to know what will happen to the officials at the event as most of them are CSA officials who do duties at all the major races. They also UCI license holders as is the team managers. This boils down to PPA not wanting to be sanctioned by CSA due to the rider levy charged for all races in the country. What other sporting code in the country has two bodies controlling a particular sporting code. Why should CSA sanction only the racing cats not the whole event? R6-00 per rider x 25000 riders. PPA should simply become an affiliate of Western Province Cycling and pay their nomal dues as any other club/affiiate would do thus ensuring that CSA cannot take control of any event they host with the exception that they woud have to pay CSA the normal fees as per requirement for events they host. We all know PPA is the cash cow that was keeping CSA on the go at some stage. PPA should be seen in the same light as Comrades Marathon Association running the Comrades under the KZN banner and Two Oceans committee running the Two Oceans underWertsern Province Athletics who all belong to CSA. Thus PPA as and affiliate of WP Cycling who inturn are registered with CSA. CSA then has no right to control what PPA does as it is an affiliate of WPC and follows their rules and regulations. A few years ago ASA tried same trick with Comrades and Two Oceans.

Morning all After reading all these posts I thought I had lost my well spent money on my Cardio 30 purchased in November 2011. Jason proved this wrong within a week I received a Brand new cardio 35 as a replacement unit for my old one which had a casing issue nothing wrong with software or the unit itself. Our ladies team in my opinion only has two persons with possible chance at top 10 finish (Ashley and Cherise) The Kenyan mens team for example had 54 qualifiers to fill 4 positions and they stuck to the laid down criteria, same for their ladies team with 17 qualifirs.

What is the "strict criteria" been mentioned, we all know to well what Cherise is capable of and her UCI raking proves it. Team sport -workers required to work for Ash is good and well, no issue with that BUT has this been discussed with Cherise before and has she been given a chance to reply? Reading between the lines it means that Cherise is a disruptive force and not a team players based on the selectors reasoning is all that one can assume. Cherise you know your abilities and where you now stand with CSA with regards road cycling. We feel for you.

A certain financier/owner/manager/coach/liasion has a great deal to do with this if one follows the story from the time Cherise left MTN and joined the Toyota squad. looking at CS position on the UCI ranking list and her achievments over the past two years versus the other ladies Ashley excluded one wonders what criteria was actually used and what CS done to get on the wrong side of the selectors. One issue that has come to light the ladies recent trip to ride for Lotto was the manner a certain rider would attack CS on every possible break whether Ashely was in the break or not even though they rode for the same team( trying to secure UCI points) CS has a proven track record over the past few years and derserves her place on the team simply by judging the UCI ranking and her races raced. The only thing I can imagine her not been in the team might be disciplinary reasons.

The way the stories are banded about it leaves one with no option but to believe the athlete is a fault period, he is avoiding certain questions been asked. You do yourself no favours by been vague. The B sample can only prove what the A sample has done already so the best would be to prove his innocence once that result is known. Nobody but the athlete and his management team must carry the blame for this mess.
