Anquetil won the Tour in 1957, was 3rd in 1959, won it in 1961, '62, '63, and '64. In 1960 he won the Giro (the first Frenchman to do so).

 

Poulidor came 3rd in 1962, 2nd in ?64, 2nd in '65, 3rd in '66. He was like the first Ulrich.

 

Anquetil and Poulidor were huge rivals. It will be fascinating stuff.
