With the WP champs around the corner can someone advise if Pedal Power members  can enter without the necessity for joining a cycling club.Star

Nope you need a full race license to do the WP Champs and to gain a license you need to belong to a club

So the question again is what now for the Spring leauge????

I took out a cyclosport to be able to ride with a group of mates in the summer leauge as a wannabe team.

Now i want to ride WP, so I can change to a Full CSA licence; cool. But what happens come Spring leauge.

I am not alowed to ride in a team as I need to ride in my club kit???

Which club Kit??

My MTB Club that has no Sponsors and no Road Section??

My Road Club that has No Sponsors and no MTB Section??

Oh Yes and I now can't ride for a team in the Spring Leauge as this social team has no affiliation to one specific club, but the members are members of the team are from different Clubs/dicaplins??

Please help. This is a stupid situation.

Or do I keep my Cyclo sport licence on ice and stil register for the full licence for Province Champs and then show my Cyclosport licence for the Spring Leauge.

no skin off my nose. I just want to ride without having to join 2/3 clubs and still not be able to ride.

You are complicating things.

As long as you ride in Un-branded kit you should not have a problem (when using full license)

Where whatever you like when using cyclosport.

Thanks for the PM Sky, will call you next week been bussy.

Tankman this is the issue:

We ride Spring/Summer leauge as a team in kit sponsord by on of the team members. You need to be clearly identifyable as a member of a team as per the leauge rules.

So this means that I have to ride under a Cyclosport Licence as this is allowed.

But if you want to ride WP/SA Champs and a few other races you need a Full licence. So now you need to ride in your Club Kit or a Registered CSA team at all races.

So what now?? Once I have a Full Licence I cannot ride with my mates in our clearly identifyable kit????

That is the Issue.

I also don't have any unbranded kit. The Kit I have is what I have begged borrowed etc. from riding in rides like the DC, and Epic etc.

Here is another example, If you have a Full licence you need to ride something like the DC in your Club Kit or blank kit. So what now?

Ok, <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Ill try and explain as I understand it. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Full License - Club Kit - (cyclelab, muggnbean or whatever your club)

Should you be sponsored, you and your sponsor enter an agreement, send it to CSA and register your kit.

Then you must ride in the registered kit. (your sponsor/club name will appear on you license and will be checked at race registration)

Should you want to compete as a team, you must register a team with CSA.  Kit is also registered and you must wear it.

Should you pitch up at an event with you full license and you forgot your sponsored/club kit at home/torn whatever, you can wear plain clothing without any branding or logos without problems.

If you and a couple of mates in the same group (elites/vets) want to ride together and wear the same kit, it is easier and cheaper using cyclosport.

As far as I know there is nothing stopping individuals working together as team (even when wearing the same kit).

With cyclosport you can wear whatever you like but it can not be used for UCI events (international/national/provincial/stage races)

Hope that helps
