It's probably just the angle. Although there are some companies that have experimented with what is called a 96er. A 29er front wheel with a 26er in the back to give the 29er benefits on the front wheel with the lighter weight and feel of the 26er on the back.

Wes Williams is the owner and founder of Crested Butte Bicycle Company and originator of Willits Brand Bicycles. He actually uses old aircraft-industry machine tools and old restaurant equipment to create the parts for his bicycles.

There were some Gary Fishers imported at some stage.

 

Other than that the only thing comes to mind is that TitusTi preaches the gospel of 29 almost as much as that of beer and nakedness
