PF I see that no one has replied to you - where do you reside? There is a regular group that ride from the circus on Saturdays and whilst the guys are pretty strong they will wait if you feel that you are not capable of averaging around 25km/h.I know I'm not and if you want to give it a try let me know and be sure that I at least will ride with you.

Thnx for the comeback. I live in Meyersdal and an avg of 25kph on a MTB is fast for me. I would like to ride with, but not to be a burden on the group or to an individual out for his or her training. Unfortunately today strength lies in numbers if you look at the incidents reported from MTB'ers.

What terrain do they ride on? the black top? Next to the road, or some genuine MTB terrain?

Agteros, these rides (Circus and Rietvlei) are in our area. Rietvlei would have some hills, but not to sure about the circus area. I recall that being pretty flat.

Loads of farms / plots around the area, so I think most rides will be offroad (Not on blacktop) but maybe not quite so challenging. I stand to be corrected though and the circus is pretty close to SBR and we all know there are a couple of small hills around there.Tongue

route varies all the time, depending on whos riding

At moment there are 2 groups, a fast and a slow. Ride  together then split up and meet at the circus again for coffee before riding back to rievlei

Cycle out from the circus is not too technical though these can be included for of a challenge.   Mostly single track, farm roads and some longish climbs that require stamina more than short sharp strength work. Route can go out toward Bronk drive or it can head out to Walkers Fruit Farms and include the common, farmlands the old None reserve and the Arboretum. So if you want to join me this Saturday let me know. PM me as I will lead the ride if anyone joins. Otherwise I will be forced to ride road.
