I also was looking at buying my AMS Pro from CRC earlier this year, but eventually bought it locally for same price. Now I have the support of LBS and negotiated 2 minor services and 1 major including hubs, crank and breaks. Dunno if I will use the services as I prefer working on my bike myself.

Boxaboy..

I know you looking at the AMS Comp 2010 and I see CRC has a huge discount.

R10k plus R1.5k transport + 15% import duty + 14% VAT

Then remember if you take it to bike shop to get it assembled properly - R300

Then if baught locally you usually get a free bike setup - R500.

Then throw in 1 or 2 free services - R800

Also your warrenty from CRC will be in the UK and not SA for the frame and all components.

Example : XMS 2011

CRC = R 11450 therefore your landed cost will be R 16 300.

That excludeds all the extras above.

Locally the bike is selling for R15 999.

Take all the extras into account and you will see bying an XMS locally will save you

at least R1k and still have peace of mind and you will have supported the local industry.

Thanks for that DARRYL O.

I have a Cube ABS Pro (dual suss) and it is awesome! No complaints.

I got mine from CRC and worked out way cheaper but you always get the warranty issue here although CRC often come to the party and Sun Ringle replaced the rear hub gratis (that is the only issue I have had with the bike).

It also fits onto a Saris Bones bike rack no problem.
