Rear wheel cassette compatibility

I am looking at doing some upgrades to my bike. Either new groupset or wheels but will more than likely end up doing both, possibly spaced over a few months. I have seen that rear wheels are compatible with either ED10 (Campag) or M10 (Shimano, SRAM). So if I decided on new wheels and went for Shimano compatible ones I could in a few months change my groupset to SRAM and use the same wheels?

SRAM and SHIMANO use the same freehub type so you won't have to change wheels/freehubs if you do change
