Hi there to all your Polar fundies

I bought a Polar S710 back in 2002 that interfaces with the Polar Precision SW version 3/4.  So obviously I have built up quite a nice training database since then.

I am considering upgrade to a new Polar unit, but I see that a new software version (version 5) has been launched, which looks a lot different from Version 4.

Question:

Can the version 4 database be imported into version 5 or will I neew to start from scratch?

V5 and V4 software is all the same, only diffs are new icons and features for the new units in V5 software...

You can even export from v5/v4 and import back into the other one.... 5>4, and 4>5

I use a 2003 model S720i and V5 software....

I seem to recall being able to convert the database without any problems.

Of course, as always with these things, make sure you have a backup of all your files before you try it.

Just remember those backups!

Good thing is that V4 and V5 install in different directories

C:\Program Files\Polar\Polar ProTrainer <--- V5

Also if you have a polar unit with features that V4 does not cater for, that info will obviously be 'lost' in V4 if you decide for whatever reason to downgrade...
