Hagar is right. Start shaving grams off your bike once your body is at peak performance and you are carrying less than ten percent body fat. Until then rather shed some pounds and work on increasing power to weight ratio.

I went through a carbon weight weenie phase but realised how stupid i was saving grams when i could seriously lose 20kg of pure fat off my body.

Evil%20Smile HI I agree lose weight on the body. There are plenty of bits you can reduce, Have the following removed tonsils, toe nails, one kidney, (Like lance A )one of the his bits, all your hair etc. You can go to extremes such as the odd finger and toe if you are ealy a wieght fanatic.

I train on a bike 1.4kg more than the one I ride for fun rides and can feel the difference. But I agree why take grams off then add two water bottles for a ride of 70 to 80km's?

As for eqipment I read of BB's that last for 6months!! I have Campag ones that have lasted 30years, so how do you equate that to research and mondern materials being better. Also wheels with Campag hubs which must have done close to 120000km.
