fau1ty Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 So my setup is like pro XC race, it's around 10 kg hardtail. the setup is xt rear d lx 9 sp cluster lx crank HG 93 chain i keep breaking the chain, just this one, i have rejoined it twice, it seems to open up and pull the pins out and snap. any ideas?

Speed Devil Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 1)Did break the chain at any time to remove and ckean it? 2) Did you use the same pin to rejoin the chain again? If you did, then it could be that the head of the pin which is slightly burred could be rounded off and now the side plates keep slipping off. wheelz Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 get a sram PC 991 chain. a little pricy but worth every cent. I used to break chains all the time untill I got one of these. they're super strong.
