  1. You can avoid all of this but just switching to Whasp Products. available at all good cycle shops and Dischem.
  2. Guys, i am not going to keep posting here to create a Mass Debate. but the experience of riders who have riden and played with bikes for so long is a huge advantage to those selling bikes that dont even ride or just want a sales job in some bike shop. All i am saying is that a good relationship with a supplier or factory in the east can result in a fantastic product. with feedback to the factory and the ability to get them to make changes for you is an advantage for you guys looking to buy a decent bike with a great warranty and awesome performance. lets stay on topic here, i think the real question was the strength and life of the product? if somebody is prepared to spend loads of cash starting a brand and offer a 2 yr warranty then this is somebody i want to do business with for years to come. Black Spade is not just an off the shelf chinese bike with some fancy stickers on it. There is time and money invested in bringing a high QC product to SA for you okes to enjoy, race and be Number 1. Peace in 2011????
  3. Guys, looking at this post you may as well have made the title Chinese 32gi or Chinese power balance. hahahhaha the reason i say this is because it subject to opinion and those with an opinion should be the ones who speak from experience of a product and not have an opinion based on some preconceived thoughts or prejudice. this said, here are a couple of facts: almost no carbon bikes are made in France or Italy or USA, this is because no little old italian man is churning out 4 million bikes a year from a little factory in Torino. the simple fact is that a factory that is producing high quality and high quality of bikes at scale are all in ASIA now days. What good engineering and design comes down to at the end of the day is Quality Control of your product. And this is my Experience: This is were Black Spade is exceptional. You can have all 3. Quality, Strength, Lightweight. this is because the guys that sell Black Spade collectively have well over 50 years combined bicycle experience, from racing, supply, retail, service and custom building and are able to bring you a high quality product without a middle man and thus at a very competitive price. the designs are simple yet very striking and everybody on the road loves the bikes, the wheels are strong and they have many different options to choose from. they are the only guys i know, that can build a full custom bike for you off your spec list, at a price you can afford. they give all the brands with custom options a real hard time when it comes to design and customizing. i have a blackspade. it's super sick at just 7.2 kg with rival its amazing.
  4. Pornstar does some real sweet carbon wheels that are really good quality. check em out on www.blackspaderacing.net

  6. Loud, proud and in your face. nice to work with Blackspaderacing and Vida in an awesome collaboration. Deep section carbon 88's are the business! Bikeporn
  7. only make a saddle height change of 1.25mm for a crank diff of 2.5mm in length. top and bottom of stroke at 1.25mm = 2.5mm
  8. staying in long street, got some rides hooked up with the guys from Internet Solutions down there, thanks
  9. Senario, you are in your car it's 5am in the morning and you approach a red light. there are no cars, no cyclists. it's just getting light. For safety reasons do you sit and wait for the light? 1. Some of these Traffic Lights are programed and run a long sequence without time changing programs. 2. if you are not on the main line you could wait a while thus becoming a safety risk. So what do you do, i will be honest i drive alot in the very early hours of the morning in JHB, i dont wait at a light, hijacking stats will show you late night and early morning are peak crime times. Now you are on your bike with a few mates, it's 5am you roll to a red light, we are not talking about midday peak hour traffic here, no cars, no traffic, no one in sight. Do you stop? Breaking the law may be cool, track stands may be cool too, what do you do, do what ever you feel is right for you. If you jump a light and get knocked down you must pay the price.
  10. This looks veery neat a great tip, good post thanks

  15. Traditional Media and Print is dead, online rules. Bicycling magazine is a load of absolute crap. When i saw the repeated DIY stand article i threw the mag away. i would not even donate it to the waiting room table at the local Vet. Seriously media guys...... wake up and smell the coffee, Online is the future, when i look for info it's on the web, i know i will find it and get the right information and some personal opinion and reviews instantly.
