LazyTrailRider Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Hi guys, Has anyone here experienced continually creaking (even after regreasing) pivots on 2008 GT Marathons? This one belongs to a friend and is the 2.0, LX-specced, and probably has only around 2000km on it. Originally the BB was the suspected culprit (it felt slightly rough anyway), but replacing it made no difference. The bike's been in to Cycle Lab, who it seems regreased and tightened, but after a couple of kays the creaking just starts again... Any ideas? Surely the bushings can't be worn already?
_BBi Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Just live with it. I know, it should not be like that, but it is very difficult to find. My Stumpy has been doing something like that for a long time now. My LBS could not find it, and after the SabieX last year, I re-built the whole bike, still the same. I suspect it could be that there is a allignement issue somewhere, but not sure how to find it.
turtlek Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 contact omnico they had a problem with the suspension joints being aluminium and they are now replacing them with plastic ones if i am not mistaken it is free of charge and it stopped the creaking on my sabie partners bike completely
