Bumped into an oldish, lugged pug frame today. Although I'm told that it's made out of galvanised water pipe (Carbolite 101) it's pretty light actually - for water pipe Big%20smile

First thing I notice were the lekker horizontal drop outs - got me thinking about building a fixie? I know zip about fixies - Couple of questions -

Anyone used a pug for this? I will probably powder coat it, but would like to get rid of the braze on's that I dont need. I assume that they are braze off but then I am going to be left with holes? Maybe just leave the stuff on?

Fixie-ing a Pug can be done, a mate of mine has one. The dropouts don't allow that much play, so a half-link and / or some careful gear selection might be needed. As for brazing off the braze-ons, I'm sure a plan could be made.

Thanks. Had a look at GTracing's site - there are actually a fair number of pugs. Great site BTW. Some real "art" to be seen Smile

Thanks. Dont see too many Pugs though...

What do mean you don't see to many of them on FGG.

THE WHOLE SITE IS FULL OF 'EM!!!!!

You don't need nothing to convert it to fixed status. Those dropouts have enough room to get chain tension

Sort out your rear wheel hub issue (changing it to a track hub as 1 option) and you're sorted

Check out Sheldon Brown's website for Converting to fixed gear for all your options

FGG rocks!!!
