Some of you are probably more clued up with this feature of Garmin than I am.

For argument sake, let's say that you are doing a 10km lap at an average of 10km/h - your total time will an hour (ignoring variables)

Let's say you do the same lap the next day, but stop halfway for 5 minutes for whatever reason, now the Garmin will detect that you have stopped an auto-pause itself - suppose you have an average speed on that one of 10km/h as well (as the Garmin is paused while you are stationary) will you finish in the same time according to the Garmin, or will you 'lose' by 5 minutes?

You will have to try and then tell us. I use virtual partner a lot and have not come across this scenario, but I would think that VP would countinue riding and you would have to catch up on your resting along the way. It might be influenced by the setting of Auto pause time as well. A good place to get garmin edge answers is the forum on the motionbased website. (google it)
