That's incredible! Besides the climb, what sort of distance did he have to ride in total to get to the top?

I normally ride from home, close to Bekker Schools, that is about a 40km round to teh top (not via Hekpoort / Bird Store).

 

With the little one, we took the car, and parked it at the T-junxion (there the Hekpoort road joins), and started the climb there. I did not time it, but it was about a 40min ride to teh top, and 10min back down.

That's amazing _BBi, my 9 year old can't even ride the Delta Park hill on the Spruit, he has to push halfway.  I think your boy must be the first child of his age to ride a climb like this, if he keeps it up Burry better watch his back
