Greetings to all.

Please take note of the following. My friend and fellow cyclist Deseree was taken down on Saturday morning by n Black Isuzu bakkie. Reg plate TSL 217 GP in Kragga Kamma Port Elizabeth. It was a group of three riders that was targeted by the driverAngry. No other vehicles on the road in daylight. The driver clipped the rider at the back and took out the middle rider. She broke her collarbone and had to be operated on. Her face is badly grazed with 3 nasty cuts complements of her cycling glasses.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The driver politely sped off.

Please note, the bakkie was found at no 58 Kragga Kamma road. It is coved in scratches. The occupants of the house are denying it all.

They have no respect for cyclistDead. This road is used a lot by PE cyclists. The police don?t seem to be to concerned and no arrests we made.

 That is life for you!

Please open a case at the police station - this way they must investigate it. Get the police commisioner also involved as well as the MEC for transport. Our plight for safe cycling muct b etaken seriously.

Yup: if you actually open the case they have to be concerned and thanks to all your details an arrest will be made and, should the evidence be strong enough (which it sounds like it its) then they will be prosectued. Thing is, do it sooner so that they dont have a chance to get the scratches fixed.

If the cops won't assist, speak to a lawyer about bringing civil action against the driver for damages, at least this way they will be made to pay in one form or another

Furthermore you probably won't have to dish out any cash, as the lawyer will agree to a percentage of the damages won.
