  1. Um... I found a recipe for some really awesome energy bars. Have the recipe at work. Lemme know if you want me to email it to you. (was cheap to make and I swear I rode better than normal when I rode with them) Otherwise Redbar is a good brand as are Powerbar. My personal fav for special occasions is Enervit bars but once again:not cheap. See Biogen also now has a new bar.
  2. Nice looking carbon copy. Whats the price on something like this?
  3. I agree with Matty G. If I had that kind of money for a deposit (I wish) I would buy a set of wheels. Perhaps rather decrease the min 2 weeks and put a R1000 deposit requirement, own insurance (saves on having to have the expensive deposit cause then if anything happens, you will get a replacement tx to insurance), increase daily rate to R250 or R500. That way you will increase your customer base by making it friendly for people who just want it for races. Then, you could offer an additional charge for cleaning (R200?) for if they are not returned clean. Just my 3c.

I know this is early in the season to ask this but... if anyone has an entry to next years event or is looking for a partner for next year... there is only 1 number to call: 083 505 9673 Thanks guys and gals
  5. one every 45mins in a +100km
  6. I always thought I would love to ride in a racing bunch but after this incident - hell no! Seriously, it now makes me nervous to do any race as I am worried about people like this. Think a bit more mtb races are in my near future
  7. Raleigh make one - go to Solomons. I love mine!
  8. Kurt- u doing support for us on Sunday? Seeing as you are not riding? Come now dude - if I have to ride your race, at least use that arm for handing out beer!
  9. Hi all, Just to let you know that Kurt Stockton was hit by a team car yesterday whilst riding in the Juniors bunch. He had surgery to repair muscles and tendons etc in his left arm. He also had a few other scrapes and bruises but is back at home recovering. This was a very unhappy incident that has ruined Kurts road and mtb season! Seriously uncool.
  10. Nice HRM - save up and get wheels and disk brakes slowly
  11. WOW!! Now she should write a book so we can all buy it! Congrats! That is seriously inspirational
  12. I wouldnt write them off! Remember that some dude cycled round Africa on a Mongoose Tyax and his only major issues was spokes. That said, look at bike shops. The Silverbacks are also great bikes. The Linden Cycles guys and the Cycelab guys were great help to me with my choice (mtb and road respectively). Welcome to the sport!
  13. Popcorn time!! I agree with looking at the Silverback. Great entry level bikes that can take a lot of punishment. (Your body will be long broken before the bike is.)
  14. Thanks for all the info guys! Saw the chopper and the rescue basket with a guy in it yesterday and wondered what had happened. Sucks that it had to be one of us! Hope he gets better soon. Keep us posted.
