My Coccyx hurts like crazy Cry? the muscles at the base of my spine actually-   if I cycle for long distances, especially if I have to put in some effort to go uphill. If I stop for a minute or two then the pain goes awaySmile, but after a while it starts againDead. When I finish riding I have no pain whatsoeverBig%20smile. Is there someone that might shed some light on this problem please? I was thinking that this might be the setup of my bike that causes the problem. Correct me if I'm wrong but maybe go to your local bike store and ask them if your bike is correctly set up, like the height of you seat post etc.. the measurments of the bikes geometry may not suit you, I dunno..

I truly hope that?s the case, I am taking my bike to my local bike shop on Saturday, hopefully they can just look at my setup anyway before my race on Sunday. Sleepy<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Ya, you could go further and question wether you're sleeping on the right type of bed, but I don't think that's the case, don't know if a physio therapist can help you there

I am experiencing this pain only when I am cycling; I go to gym 5 times a week and am otherwise quite active and have NO pain. So I think it?s the setup, will do the setup with experts and then see what they recommend. Thank you. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

What kind of cadence do you ride at while going uphill before the pain starts?

Riding to hard a gear (low cadence) could be putting stress on your lower back.

Don't know precicely, but a relative high cadence I assume. I never attempt to go uphill wit a low cadence.

Bike setup is the best money you'll ever spend...go to someone that KNOWS their stuff!!

I had similar problem and after set-up - problem solved.

It is amazing how much difference just 10mm here or there can make to your comfort on the bike...not to mention 100% power transmission to where it counts!

SwissVan is also absolutely correct! Too high a gear causes me back pain...
