Prize money for the TDF

After every win Lance use to give all his prize money to the team and took nothing for himself.  I wonder?

I heard Astana with the Team Comp prize money was something like R6,500 000-00 Euros, but i can be wrong.

LA used to make it sound like it was unusual to share prize-money with the team.  The team is entitled to all prize money and distribute it according to the contracts they have with the riders.  Generally this means even distribution of the prize money amongst the key members of team, including support personnel.  No doubt the same contractual structure is in place for Astana given that the same team manager is involved.

Okay, here a question. Didn't Sole won both the polka dot and young rider competition in 07? He chose to wear the polka dot because it was a more sought after prize and the second place in the YR comp got to wear white. So did he get the money for both or did it work the same as with the jerseys?
