Hi Guys

I have a Sram cassette on the back wheel of the mtn bike, which the bike kindly took off for me.

How do I take the cassette apart to clean the individual cogs?

Do you reckon you could teach my bike that trick? PleaseSmile

Find an old cooking tray and drop the whole cassette in it. Drown it in a few pints of parafin. Then go find your self a paint brush. This'll be the best tool to get inside the nooks and crannies. Spend a few minutes brushing and you're cassette will be shiny and new in no time.

BTW there is a way you can take it apart but it involves knocking the pins that hold it together, out. Not really a good idea. The above method should have you easily sorted.

Racer, the thing is so dirty that the sand and grime is very thick, even with a brush between the cogs I am struggling to get it clean.

Tomorrow I try the parafin route.

Parafin is sure to stip off any grime....just soak for the duration of 1 Beer's drinking timeWink

Go to plastics for AFRICA at the Mall and get a lekka stiff brush..the type to clean dishes wirh ...they work wonders!
