dagwood123 Posted August 19, 2009 Share Would you pay R100 to help some one better their educationOverview http://www.giftofthegivers.org/images/stories/south_africa/cycle_tour/MAP-2.jpgThe Gift of the Givers Foundation (GOTG) will be hosting a two-week long cycle tour that aims to raise awareness of the importance of education in thedevelopment of South Africa, and more importantly, to raise funds fort he organisation?s existing educational projects.Three dedicated riders will be traveling through six provinces (namely Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, North-West, Northern Cape and Gauteng) to raise money for the cause. En route, they will behighlighting the importance of quality education.They will be joined by teams of riders on five different legs on the tour. The additional cyclists will pay an entry fee to join the race. At major cities, they will extend their trip for a day or two, in order to raise money and get publicity for the tour. The tour will start in Polokwane (26 September) and end at the Union Buildings in Pretoria (10 October).Aim: To raise R1.5 million for GOTG education projects.ObjectivesTo raise awareness of the importance of education in the development of South Africa To draw attention to the ever-increasing costs of education, especially higher education (one rider is a student and the other is raising money for the cost of his son?s education). To grow the sport (cycling) in South Africa and introduce it to communities not exposed to the sport. dagwood123 Posted August 19, 2009 Share If you want to know more about it you can contact me on 0836611665We have booklets that we selling for a R100 and this will allow you to join us on the last leg of the ride from Soweto to Pretoria Union building...we are appealing to all clubs and riders to join in on this...There will be full Metro escorting us from Soweto to Pretoria so no need to worry about safety....
