Ethiopia to Cape Town

So we were cycling on the N1 between Louis Trichardt and Polokwane on saturday afternoon when on our way back home we cycle past four guys with mountain bikes with baggage hanging from the sides of their bikes. So we turn around and decide to hear whats going on.

These blokes had been cycling for 3 months and three days and have covered +- 5000 miles. But I just wish I had a camera to get a pick of these guys, they looked like hobo's but they were really cool guys. I think they where from England or therabouts and were cycling from Ethiopia to Cape Town for charity. One bloke even said he was happy because they were almost there, (+- 2000km to go) LOL

Another remarkable thing is the weight of their bikes! I'm not exaggerating if I say their bikes must have weighed in at about 50 - 60kg.Shocked Their average speed is about 10 km/h, trully remarkable.

These guys should be somewhere between Mokopane (Potgietersrus) and Pretoria this week so have a look out for the "hobo's" on mountain bikes!
