need to choose a bike for good climbing ability , single track and jeep track

whats more important - geometry or components

I would co Commencal even if the components are a little lower then the Merida.

my main concern was the difference between the rp23 and 111/120/140 talas shock on the merida and the lack of lockout and/or propedal abilities on the commencal

Hey Bikelope, which year model Meta 5.5.2 are you looking at? Both 2008 and 2009 Meta 5.5.2 come with a Fox RP2 as standard. We do have demo bikes available, should you wish to try it out.
