I have ridden a Giant compact road bike for a number of years. The wheelbase is 98cm.

Recently I bought a litespeed from a fellow hubber. I noticed that when my pedals are at the 9 and 3 o clock position and I turned ,that the front wheel overlapped(touched) my shoe. This never happened on my Giant. I measured the wheelbase and it is 96cm.

My question(s) is:-

Is the overlapping dangerous and is the only solution to get a fork with a bigger rake?

You will hardly get into a scenario where you will be in that exact position, and if you do it will be at very low speed turning, if you fall if will be a topple at most.
