Awesome bike, I have the 2008 Peace 9r and also fitted a 2009 XT Crank and man does it make one hell of a difference,

My shock is not as flashy as yours though, but no complaints yet, here is a cellphone pic of mine taken last night.

It is a standard Peace 9r with the following upgrades:

M29 29er fork

Fizik saddle

2009 XT Crankset

Crankbros candy pedals

Now I need some hydraulics to round out the whole package.

NICE

But a ride that good deserves better brakes' date=' I reckon.[/quote']

Best possible combo on my budget - best mechanical disc brakes on the market, and semi-top of the range rear v-brake (the frame doesn't have disc brake mounts on the frame or the original rigid fork), plus it looks neater than having two different levers on your handlebar. Braking power is also similar on both front and rear which is also a bonus in my books, just on the off chance that I encounter a crisis I won't end up doing an ostrich plant.

I originally opted for the RST M29 fork as well, suited my budget much better; but Kiwi couldn't get stock immediately so I went all out with the Reba, received it from CCS this morning. Going to ride it tomorrow for the first time.

ANOTHER new ride Dylan?!  (I'm just jealous).  Great weight and a beaut of a 29er!

Currently I'm sitting with; Bicycles: 1, which I'm more than happy with. I also put a huge effort into restoring my dad's chromoly Mongoose IBOC, will post pictures shortly.

Nice bike Dylan. I have been looking everywhere for a second hand Peace 9er but they are like hens teeth. Looks like those who buy them, love them so much they never sell them!

I ended up getting an On One Inbred SS 9er with carbon fork off ebay UK last week...can't wait to get into riding it! It's fitted with a 32 x 17 which on the 9er is too heavy for where I ride (Eden in Stellenbosch)...its in the shop getting a 19 rear sprocket fitted...what ratio's do you guys ride?

I ride 32x18 for cross country, 32x16 or 36x16 for club rides.

In races where the adrenaline is pumping I ride harder ratios.  At Crater cruise I used 36X14 but my crank arm came off after 15km.

Gonna ride karoo2coast with ss as well thinking about 36x16 or 32x15.
