I have a pair of Easton Vista SL wheels and was wondering if it would possible to rebuild them using lighter spokes and rims to make a lighter wheelset... I dont know what the hubs weigh tho...if I could find a breakdown of the weights I could maybe look into it.

...or is it best to accept the 1700g weight and ride them because they are hand built and bulletproof?

If I could knock of 200 -250g I might go ahead...

Rather just pay for a new lighter set, It'll work out cheaper in the long run. The Easton wheels are built to suit a price ppoint and in the case of the Vista's they are an entry level wheelset so the weight falls in there as well, To get lighter rims to suit you'd be paying just under the price of the complete wheels...
