Hi,

 

Is there much difference in riding a 53/39 crank and 25/12 cassette and a 53/39 crank and 27/12 cassette

 

I'm referring mostly to negotiating hills. Has anyone have first ahnd experience with the 2 cassette types?

Depends on how steep the hill, and how fit you are??

 

Definitely will be a difference in the 25 to the 27 rear, you will feel it up really steep hills, the 27 will be easy and you will be able to spin up the hill maybe quicker. The only thing is with the 12/27 there will be bigger gaps between some of the gears.
