SRam X7 shifters

Does anyone have tips on opening and servicing SRam X7 mtb shifters? The problem is that while shifting the shifters gets stuck.

Had the same problem, the way I fixed mine was to remove them from the handle bar, view them from all angles and replace with SRAM XO gripshifts

 

No sorry, heard they have plastic gearing inside which wears down and needs to be replaced - not too sure if this can be done though.

I'm currently having the same issue with mine, where the larger thumb shifter (for the rear derailleur) gets jammed after shifting. Normally a second flick with the thumb frees it.

 

 

 

I guess it is just dirt in the mechanism, but haven't found it frustrating enough just yet to look.

My lbs did open and clean them once and they worked fine for a while but it started to give problems again. Thought maybe someone on the hub opened and cleaned them before, so that I can do it by myself.

Sometimes there is dirt in there but if they still stick after cleaning then start saving for a new set...the X7 are not great in longevity...
