SLX crank tooth design

it appears if the tooth design of the SLX outer chain wheel is worn. i compared a used ring to a new ring. any comments to enlighten me

SLX rings are odd looking. I've just got my sticky paws on a double crankset, and the 36t ring has a 'shark fin' profile - but facing the opposite way to how it would look if it was worn. The 'driving' face of the tooth is normal, just the back end that's got a funny profile.

droo,some of the teeth seems flat on top and a slightly lower profile. I assume this is the way it is manufactured

That's pretty common on big blades, it's part of the shift gate. They should be in 2 places, directly opposite each other. I'll check mine out tonight and report tomorrow, it's not fitted yet so easy enough.
