I have a WTb rocket V on Mr RacerX at the moment. And on my weekend long ride it produced some intense pressure pain (not chaffe) on my bum bones. Which really affected my pedalling as it really hurt to sit.

Is it worth looking at another saddle ? The spez saddles I looked at have flex in them which seems to make sense (but is this good for 300km?) The guys at the bike shop said I should look at a thinner saddle with less padding.

Or should I just suck it up and suffer through the pain till I get used to the rocket V?

I have a bontrager inform saddle wich protects your "prostaat" and is not a flay saddle wich make  your a$$ bones  less painfull after long rides. RRP +-R1400-00

Try a Planet-X saddle. I don't know if it will be okay for 300km but it sure is for my 5hr ride. I use the exact same one on my MTB. And at R310 it is not the biggest train smash if your behind does not agree.

I have a similar saddle to the WTB rocket V on my MTB. I think it?s totally cr#p for long rides. The design of the saddle isn?t any good. The ride on the saddle for me is really uncomfortable.

I currently ride a Selle Italia SLR XP on my road bike. It?s made from carbon fiber with a thin leather/foam cushion over it. When you press hard on the saddle with your thumb you can see it flex which is good.

I would recommend it to anyone.

You can get them anything from R1100 maybe even cheaper, if seen the same saddle sell on the hub for R600 new.

Slowbee I found that the SDG Bel Air works for me as it spreads the load on the bum area to more areas rather than the 2 sit bones.....I did the epic on it last year and it worked for me....

but saddles are a funny thing they, they either work for you or not....

I am just comparing it to my road saddle, a giant carbon and the Bell air it much better.

I am not sure, I looked at CRC and they had them for R550 then I got it from Cycles Direct for R300 and that nogal for the RL

If you want one, I can maybe pick it up for you as I am going past your side of the world this weekend.

He does not have stock at the moment but it's comming it at the end of the month. Getting my 3rd just to have on incase. I'm not going through the whole thing again to look for a comfy saddle.

I have a SDG Bel Air for you. I bought it and never used it. You can have it for R200 excl postage. But it does weigh over 300gr.

I realy can not answer that, I know Specialized can. After I saw the Video on the Oxygen levels dropping through the Penileartery after 2Min on a normal saddle and after sitting on the Spez saddle is scarry if you can get a body geometry saddle

I do ecourage this!!! Any body riding spez to 2nd that???
