Bliksemse lelike wetters ! Hate snakes !

Yeah, to me the only good snakes are dead ones, except for the house snakes or egg eaters (non-poisonous)

The boerboel on the farm outside Uitenhage where I keep a few beehives got bitten in the face by a puffy. Shame! The poor thing's face swelled up like anything, and it was all he could do to drag himself around while the poison worked its way out. Got bitten all over by ticks from just lying in the bush for hours. The dog recovered in the end.

That puffie chasing the duck is for sure a winner on 50/50. We all know snakes can swim - but to actually see a puffie is for SURE something else.

I'll take a share in your new 4x4 thank you bi sukkel

Then you'll love this one.. the Inland Taipan.. rated as the most poisonous snake alive, I thought the Black Mamba was:

Unfortionately I never made a video clip of this event taking place as it happened so quickly, I did fwd the pic to 50/50 with the whole story, but I have not received as much as a "auto-reply " from them.

I could see the snake being very p....-off with the duck teasing the hell out of him. I was surprise to see how fast the puffy can swim, but then again it is not a problem for me as I am convice I can run faster on the water than what the puffy can swim in it !LOL This picture was taken over the 2009 Easter weekend on the farm just outside Zeerust.....MTB's heaven ! Jeeptrack and lots of game !

Watched Steven Austin's Seven deadly strikes show last night. Love snakes.

I will never forget this one time when I rode past a sun bathing snake and it shot off like a rocket' date=' I sh@t myself. Heart rate went through the roof, he he he.

Hmm, also watched it - hate snakes, he makes it look real easy but that Cobra still bit him on the finger anyway.

Lots of conflicting info on what to do if bitten, I hike a lot and went to a seminar by the SANPARKS once, their suggestion was to not suction the bite at all but simply to strap above the bite, if you can identify the snake and have the appropriate anti venom inject as soon as possible, if you cant identify the snake try and get a photo of it to take with to the hospital.

Whereas when Steve got bit by the cobra he immediately "bled" the wound, applied suction, injected anti venom and bound the arm tightly - very contradictory indeed, but it worked for him anyway.

Of course if an adult black mamba bites you, its all a moot point, cos you probably wont even have time to find all the stuff in your back pack before you keel over!.

sometimes the problem with a snake bit from a black mamba or cobra, or even a puffie is the sheer force with which they hit you. I mean actually bite hurts like hell, but it feels like you have been punched with a 10 pound hammer....and that is usually the first bit of shock that takes getting over.

You a Vet Slowbee? Have been looking for one to support on the SSW area....got a young staffie whose vets bills to date would've been able to support an expensive MTBing habit!
