SRAM Front Deraileur

Do you need to (aka is it essential to) fit a sram front deraileur when you switch from shimano to sram?

I want to switch from shimano to sram, but I have to do it on a budget, so I will eventually switch but is it nessecary, in the beginning?

nope, shimano will still work just fine

To switch you only really need to change rear mech and shifters.

 

Your cassette, front mech, crank and chain will still be a-ok (depending on wear)
