WOW, this is bad.

I was amazed to see the disorganization at this race, no expo, no
goodie bag, "sorry we do not have any t-shirts in your ordered
size"(why have those sizes then on the website, and it is not that they
run out, they NEVER had anything bigger than L) no info on road
closures, so a visiting person can find their way to PM in the
morning...

......and now this is just the cherry on the cake...

VERY badly organised and managed race....

Hope these guys heal up quick

CAPE EPIC 2010 (2nd one)

A lot of the people I spoke to complained about the Shova this year, and

it seemed a real **** up from an organisational point of view:

- the stupid Entelect system refused to allow me to register as a

tandem (again), and I had to phone up the organisers to do a

  manual entry,

- it then charged me for one rider, so we had to do a second transfer

  (and pay their "online entry fees" for a second time);

- other people I met had also had problems with the entry system, and

  said this had caused chaos at registration;

- they ran out of L and XL t-shirts at registration (we had to fill in our

sizes on the Entelect system, so how did they stuff that up).

- there was no information on the race in the race packs (which I rely

on), so we had to quickly wander around the ****ing abysmal

mtncycling web site to confirm timing chip, start time (and hope

that was still correct and current), ...

- there was no information on the finish having been moved, so we

were quite surprised to see it as we went around the corner

- the CSA and timing officials ****ed up the tandems results, so

we waited arund for 2 1/2 hours waiting only not to be called up

and to have to sort it out afterwards, leaving a really bad taste in

my mouth (why didn't they just look at the ****ing timing results?)

- there was confusion as to when and where the aforesaid prize

  giving was

- the prize giving was then 1/2 hour late and this was blamed on the

  CSA.

I had a chat to Annie about this, but she just said they had received

nothing but compliments and I was in the wrong. Basically **** you.

This is the same person that said the guys who crashed were "distracted" by the timing mats!  WTF?

"Race director Annie Batchelder said two cyclists had to be taken to hospital after falling over the timing mat at the finish. She said the mat across the finish line had flipped and distracted the cyclists."

The only solution in future is to vote with your wallet !!

Ja-nee. The problme is I enjoy the race! Cry

What pees me off is that I chatted to Annie and congratulated her on

a great race and told her I had some suggestions to make it better.

She then basically told me to stuff off... I suppose she was busy.
