X9 vs XT

Hi i hav shimano xt on my bike but  i realy want to get scram gripshift...the problem is that xt derailer rear doesnt work with sram gripshift......is x9 a gud option to go to......wat are the benifits of x9?

Ridden and still own both. Sram is far more precise feeling shift, but heavier. Shimano is silky smooth but needs more maintenance (lubed cables keeping it smooth).

 

If you want to mix and match, get Sram Attack shifters - designed to work with shimano deraillers. In my opinion it is still the best set up I have ever ridden. Sram precise feel shifting, but it feels light due to shimano RD. And Attack offer shifters and gripshift...

Upgraded from xt rd to x9 a couple of months ago with xtr cables and x9 trigger shifters. Really enjoying this over my old xt setup.

I have had XT then sort of down graded to 06 sram X9's but the one thing I do enjoy is the fact that all the changing is done with the thumb so there is always a finger or 2 on the brakes

I got my bike with XT, soon moved to XO, but now back to shimano XTR. I just found that shimano is a lot more reliable, a lot less maintence, although the grip shift is really nice. you can get SRAM gripshift that is compatable with shimano.
