Cycle tour/funride badges

what happened to the material badges that we used to get at every funride, the type that some people sewed onto a jacket, i was just looking through an old file and came across a whole lot from the late 80's early 90's. I suppose the medals have replaced them.

Last time I did the Bouckartsoenen race in Paarl they also had these. I prefer the medals (my 3 y/o too!) - but it beats the living daylights out of Tour de Stellenbosch's sticker!

These badges where awesome. I remember all cross country (running) gave them, and no medals. Early 90's
