Need some valuable advice or perhaps someone else has experinced the same

When i brake, both front & rear it seems like my brake pads grab onto the disc. It doesnt gradually grab the disc but rather a violent grabbing of the disc.

The pads still have IMO fair life. Perhaps 3/4 worn.

Ive thought of getting new pads but will that solve the problem ?.

If i adjust them then they are fine for about 3 or brake pulls on the levers but then it starts grabbing again

has anyone else experienced this & if you have what have you done to remedy this dangerous situation

Check if the disc isn't maybe worn unevenly causing a wider and narrower spots, I've had that and it feels wierd it almost like takes and releases I replaced thee rotors and they are now fine

It might be that the pads are damaged with something - take them out and make them rough with fine sandpaper, and then try again. Check the same on the disks.  Are you sure there no leaking of fluid from the callipers?

What brake system do you have?

Did it start recently, or has it always been like that?

Ask your LBS re replacement pads with a softer compound. It will wore down faster, but braking will be smoother.

okay problem sorted without having to buy new pads

Read an interesting thing in a local mag recently & decided to give it a try. Its probably old news but......I didnt know it until i read about it

take water sandpaper & put it on a smooth surface & run the disc pad over them to sand the glazing that has occured over time off. Gently does it though cause you could dramatically reduce the lifespan on the brake pad cause it sands away like no ones business

I then tried it out & man oh man, it feels like ive just walked out the LBS with a new set of wheels

So if youve experienced the same as me try it & even if your brakes dont feel the same as when they were new do this...... It will make a mojor impact on your stopping power & once again make it smooth & feel brand new
