So tomorrow I'm doing a training (hope I do not die) ride with two lean mean racing snakes!!!!

Any tips from the racing snakes on the hub as how to survive the ride?

1. Never pace, draft as much as possible behind the strong guys

2. Don't try stick with them on the climbs - ask them at the start to ride back down & crest with you on the 2nd one - that way they get extra distance in, & you don't go into the red on every single climb.

3. Eat enough before the ride - your body will be working much harder than on a standard ride & will need more feul.

4. If you hit the wall, buy some coke or cream soda at a garage. Fizzy drinks with a very high sugar content. If you can hold down food, eat a bar one or a nougat.

Been there, done that... Draft-draft-draft. Know you'll be dropped at places and make peace with it - have the understanding they'll either turn around or just slow down a bit for you to catch up.

Oh - and lastly: Miss your bike when you puke. Wink

Hey colonel thanks for the ride. I had a great time and its great riding with you racing snakes. Teaches me to ride at pace and climb at pace. The more I do training like that the better I will ride.
