Dibles, the temperature at the start of the 2008 trail run at 07:00 was -15c.

 

 

 

It was actually too cold to snow in Rhodes but as soon as we climbed Mavis Bank there was almost a total whiteout and we had to pick our way through the clumps of snow along the road.

I marshalled at an adventure race in that area in June a few years ago and I had to camp near a river at one of the camp sites. Teams mentioned that their Camelbaks froze while on their backs and it got down to -17C. Coldest night I've ever tried to sleep through.

And we can even supply cosy beds with electric blankets! Camping here in June is nuts (but I have to admire you for it!). I'm originally from the UK and have had enough cold to last me a lifetime - give me the creature comforts I say.
