I recently bought a Schwinn spinning bike and wanted to put some Shimano SPD pedals on, but it won't fit!!!!

On closer inspection it seems that the thread size of the spinner's pedals are marginly smaller than those of the SPD pedals??

I thought it will all be a standard size?

What to do??

Can I just drill it bigger and re-thread?????

Will there be other cleat pedals that will fit???

I doubt Shimano will have a 1/2 inch pedal. You'll find 1/2 inch at Game in the cheapie section. Hope you like black plastic platform pedals with crappy bearings.

Technically it can be drilled and tapped, but finding someone with the right and left-hand thread tap required will be a mission.

If you really insist on getting say clipless pedals, change the cranks.

I am using them, but hell, they are killing my feet!!! And no matter how tight I make them my feet keep slipping out after a while.

I try to spin  a hour a day and at the end of da week my soles of my feet are gaar!!!!
