I've had my Gobi for 2 months now and I'm still not used to it. Here at the 2.5 hour mark into a ride it starts to hurt the sit bonessmiley11.gif. Been riding 4 times a week, min 1.5 to 4 hours, so not for lack of trying. Is it time to look for a replacementsmiley5.gif? Get measured up for a Specialized? Think my butt's to big!! smiley36.gif Domin8tr2010-05-25 22:04:12

You seatbones obviously need to be the right distance apart, but I have a Gobi and I noticed you need to be very sure of your seat angle or body angle to get the right fit on the seat, try making your profile a bit more aggressive or tilting the seat Very Slightly forward. I found this to work for me.

If only I've seen this post 6 months ago ...

After spending lots of $$$ on new saddles, Assos bibs, etc. - it took one look from an LBS after complaining about severe bruises & pain to notice that my saddle?s angle maybe a bit too ?forward? ...

Problem almost solved, needs a bit more adjustment to get it perfect, but I can ride 5hrs again without hating every moment of it

Very good advice from @Dvader ? I would try this first before buying anything new to try out

I had the same issue with the Gobi, just to narrow for my seatbones. After a couple of months I couldn't take it anymore and replaced it with a Fizik Aliante XM and I my rear could not be happier.

A "spoon" shaped saddle like the Gobi, Aliante, Prologo Charge and others always needs to be nose up. It's got one position to sit on and that is it.

You can always try a Planet-X. I have one on both my MTB and road after I thought the Aliante was the best these was. It's only R310.

Originally had the saddle fitted using a spirit level but having never used a saddle with the front so high, it became uncomfortable. Move the front end slightly down and it was a bit better. My old saddle was a WTB rocket, with a cutout. Wonder if this is also causing problems?
