Race with Soul

Is how the july/august Tread describes the 2010 cape epic in their feature photo article. Whilst I'm not mocking the race and all its done, I'd say that the true soul disappeared when the rampant profiteering began. An example would be the exhorbitant substitution fees where you basically pay twice for your one entry.

 

Just my opinion, I love following the race but you won't find me on the startline for the exact reason that I feel it has no soul.
