  1. chapter 5 (ish) in the saga. https://runningmann.co.za/2026/05/12/a-question-for-kendra-stewart/ I'm not that wild about rules rule RULES! that ASA running do, so something like this run crew having an unofficial cheerzone will probably get them on the radar. Having your "members" remove the timing chip/doctor bibs etc definitely gets the authorities frothing! Probably time for them to actually engage, they do cool things for the sport.
  2. That DNF list tells me is that the tjiks are more hartkor than the tjommas. looks like proper vibe, luvv it https://www.instagram.com/p/DYKHISFIYrz/

on the assumption that Tristan is more than happy to take a step back and not bleed through his eyeballs for 700km, maybe Beers found a long term partner here that can mix it up.
  5. 23 GT in 15 years, or as Adam Hansen calls it "rookie numbers". https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/nelson-oliveira/statistics/grand-tour-starts
  6. that's probably not a good thing for me - I am a total night owl!
  7. well there you go. Prosecco for breakfast!
  8. Was quietly shut down last year, it's a challenging industry. Remaining stock went on sale here in September, most of it gone. https://www.yaga.co.za/vye Coincidentally I bumped into the original founder earlier this week, he's doing well. If you've got nice things to say about the brand go for it, no point airing any views on what should have been done (but it's a free country if you really feel the need).
  9. https://www.discovery.co.za/vitality/vitality-premium-devices-updates-2026 november 2025 according to a social media query 3 weeks ago it is still "coming soon". I'm looking to upgrade my watch - Do I wait longer for this to actually happen or is this the sort of thing that just goes quietly?
  10. FYI. there is a massive thread on this topic, and we're in the commuter section - lots of things discussed already
  11. surprising hey, I can imagine the recipient will be saving all those racenumbers for his bar at home. To go with the #11, #11 and #23 he has already in his collection. ps. this silly interlude is because the news is slow.
  12. nope, although he is wearing #191 as the top guy from UAE. The guy in the #1 is a sprinter. he's on this list
  13. popquiz. Who is riding with the #1 bib number this year? normally goes to the GC favourite or defending champ. even though Visma are defending the title (Yates retired), Jonas is going to be riding with #171 on his shirt. no cheating..try guessing without going to PCS previous years below 19 Landa 20 Tony Gallopin (major outlier) 21 Bernal 22 Carapaz 23 Remco 24 Geraint Thomas 25 Roglic
  14. I'll bite on this one. In my general experience, and definitely current working arrangement, the disabled bathrooms do not serve many customers. In fact I don't think I've ever seen a wheelchair user in our 21 storey building - so there's 21 mainly unused disabled bathrooms (which house the only showers). but point taken, I would feel lank *** the day I take a shower at work and there's a disabled person waiting outside bursting for a pee.
  15. Really? Pretty sure they've normally aired it in the past. But yes that YT channel has been a welcome surprise Edit: now that I think about it, RAI channel has been used in the past before
  16. This segment really has the potential to explode. If I look at the multitude of food delivery ebikes in CT CBD, they are all taking the pace of a mini motorbike scooter and they seem to be working well.
  17. Over the years DSTV has covered a lot of cycling. I doubt it ever made financial sense for what is a limited sportbase. (marriott and cecil nurse can't be paying much for their ads, wonder if they still get invoiced). I'm guessing there have been cycling fans at DSTV executive, the new french overlords won't care so much. If the Giro isn't shown, it would be a big marker on the direction it's going.
  18. for R20k all in to match that frame you're going to have to go 2nd hand...which might be difficult from Zambia. The problem with a piecemeal build on a budget is that getting the right stuff is tricky, something always just isn;t compatible - and I'm guessing cross border courier is a mission. so, a more boring suggestion. buy a bargain hardtail like this. https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/bicycles/products/titan-cerberus-dash-2024?_pos=16&_fid=5de975f19&_ss=c build the parts over. flog the frame in zambia. obviously check compatibility first.
  19. That's a Sanparks bakkie. Most likely scenario from the info given here would seem bakkie going northbound and turning right into Gate 2 parking lot after seeing a gap in the vehicles. There's a cyclist going southbound that he didn't see and there's a collision. Luckily the speeds involved here might not be that high, It is a crap intersection, been plenty of botsings there in the past but first one I can remember of a cylist.
  20. Wow, you really just couldn't let it go. I'll let you dig this hole as deep as you feel necessary, with as many anecdotes as you can find. You cycling after and catching up to uber drivers to quiz them on their papers must be quite a sight to behold.
  21. there is another one. !Khwa ttu - just before Darling/windmills, trails are legacy and rideable - just not much distance and can get muddy. gazillion duiweltjies in summer so sealant mandatory https://khwattu.org/visit-and-explore/tours-trails/ the link to Living Colour trails is no longer officially open, but call ahead and you might be able to arrange. Trails there are getting an upgrade/refit, AFAIK. WC fossil park - after langebaan turnoff. haven't ridden these, but written up here https://bicyclesouth.co.za/listings/west-coast-fossil-park/
  22. One of the most disappointing things on this issue for me is when cyclists really want to defend bad behaved cyclists. I expect push back on both our posts here.
  23. Took the words out of my mouth, thank you. 100% Xenophobia is not a good life choice. @DieselnDust please please don't respond to this one, just let it go.
  24. Totally disagree on this one. Sort of related, fatal hit and run on a pedestrian and the outcome is very disturbing https://www.capetownetc.com/news/metro-police-officer-granted-r4000-bail-after-21-year-olds-death/
