Affordable stage races

Can someone tell me how do I enter more than one stage race a year without running hte risk of having no money for a holiday?

Not quite sure Hell and Back counts as affordable anymore. The entry doesn't include much, apart from a medal and t-shirt.

 

Have a look at the RenosterVeld MTB. Looks like some good riding, and it's for a good cause:

sabie experience - last year's 4day race came in under R2000 a rider if I recall. The expensive part was repairing my bike after a very wet day 2 and semi wet day 3.
